Too Faced Christmas In New York Merry Macarons Holiday 2016 Collection Set

Hello everyone, today I am doing a quick review of the Too Faced Christmas In New York Merry Macarons  Set from the Holiday 2016 Collection. Every year around this time I spend a lot of money just buying Holiday limited edition makeup, you know how it goes!. For this set I really like it and it every wearable and the quality is very good. The palette in this set remind a lot  of the last year Star Dust palette by  Vegas Nay (click here for the review ) which I like a lot.This set is available exclusively on ULTA and it retails for $39 for the value of $153.

 Packaging

The packaging is generally in pink and has the theme of Christmas in New York City during the holiday season is similar to the last year holiday collection Too Faced La Petite Maison set, just in different print and colors. I personally like that and some people might disagree with me, still love it!

The Set

This set comes with only two products the palette and deluxe size of the Better than Sex mascara which it is cheaper than the Too Faced Chocolate Shop  set that is exclusive to Sephora.

The set includes a deluxe size of Too Faced’s best mascara, the  Better Than Sex Mascara (0.17 oz.) the full size is $23 for (0.27 oz.). I truly LOVE this mascara is one of my few favorite.

For Sping 2016 , MAC released different collections, including the Faerie Whispers Collection. It is very nice collection and all of the items are wearable in my option.However I only picked fews things, since I had a lot similar items in my makeup collection. I intended to buy one brush but I picked one blush (of course), two eyeshadows and 2 brushes.

In this collection there are two blush shades Spellbinder and Cheek Pollen ($22.00), I only got one. Spellbinder is described as  pastel yellow pink and it is in the satin finish,while Cheek Pollen is described  a warm nude shades is it in the stain finish as well.

I am totally obsessed with this blush, I almost did not buy it because I own a lot of blushes especially MAC ones. But nudes shades are my favorite as far as blushes because I can wear this kind of shade all around the year.

Foiled Eyeshadow

There are 8 Foiled Shadow in this collection for each $20.00.The are shades like 4 cool shades and 4 warm shades.These eyes shadows are very shimmery and they can be used dry for shimmer metallic look or wet for an intense wet metal foil finish.For this collection I picked only two colors were similar and I only like warm eyes shadow in general.

Small Cheek Brush

MAC 133 – Small Cheek Brush ($35.00), is a limited edition brush, this brush introduced the in MAC Holiday collection of 2015 in small version. It’s described as  an soft cheek brush for precise application and easy blending.This type of brushes in my favorite type for blush application and I don’t own something like this from MAC and it is the only item really intended to buy from this collection.

Mini Sized Vs Full Sized

The two brushes look similar and basically they perform the same. However; the full sized feel like it made better and it is has  higher quality, that because MAC brushes are hand made while the holiday collection sets are not. also the full sized is longer which gives more control applying the blush on the face.

For Spring 2016 Too Faced released a limited Blush Wardrobe palette, including all of the six shades of  Love Flush blushes permanent line. I was so happy with this release because I want all of the shades of this line I already have two shades, but I can not justify buying anymore blushes I own away to much blushes and I will never run out of any shade.But I was able to justify this purchase for several reasons, first it is a limited edition palette and I am all about collecting limited edition makeup edition products.Second, I will get to try all of the shades for lower prices. Finally, this palette will be perfect for travelling since it has variety of different shades.

The packaging super cute, very thin, it is pink and has hearts all over it, just perfect to be a valentine day gift. It comes in a box that mimic the actual palette design.The palette is made of hard cardboard with magnetic closure and long mirror.

This palette retails for $36.00, it have six shades of blushes ( 2.0 g / 0.07 oz each) and the blushes inside have heart-shaped pans.What I really love the most about this palette that it allows us to try different shades of Love Flush line for great price and value.

Full Size Blush

The full sized Love Flush Blush is $26.00 for 6.0 g/0.21 oz. It comes is heart-shaped compact packaging and the blush has beautiful embossed with cute bunny design and Too Faced logo. Comparing it with the palette, each pan has 1/3 of the full size blush, for the price,this a great value (who will ever use up  a full-sized  blush anyway?). The whole palette has the size of two full-sized blush with value of $52.

Spring 2016 Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powders

As a part of the Dior Glowing Gardens, Spring 2016, Dior released two limited edition illuminating powders the Glowing Pink and Glowing Nude. They are in the pricey side, $58 each. They are part of the Diorskin Nude Air, it is seem that every season Dior includes two Diorskin Nude Air powders in collection. These illuminators are inspirited from the  strobing technique, which is very in trend right now. These illuminators/highlighters have very beautiful embossed with a delicate floral motif, which made them super collectible item for makeup lovers. For me personally, I struggled to find them and they sold out quickly everywhere, I did not have a big problem finding shade 001,Glowing pink, but I almost lost the hope to getting the shade 002, Glowing Nude, but I was lucky enough to buy the last the one!

This powder features extremely fine illuminating pigments… To achieve a natural finish, lightly sweep powder over the face with the mini kabuki brush. For a more sophisticated look and longer wear, apply concentrating on the T-zone, and then remove any excess with the brush.

Packaging

The illuminators came in a relatively big blue navy box, there is no special design and it had the same standard box for the all Diorskin Nude Air powders products. However, had the name of the collection Glowing Gardens on it, but nothing special really.

The inside the box they is the powder compact and it comes with a mini kabuki brush and a small velvet pouch. I must say that give it a very luxurious touch which I will just to justifying my purchase.

Diorskin Nude Air powders come in silver case, super classy and it look very beautiful in my vanity. And it comes with mirror inside.

Old Packaging VS. New Packaging

The first thing I noticed is that weight, it is away lighter from the ones I already owns. It is seem that they changed the packaging to make it lighter because the older design made of most sort of metal while the new ones feel like it made of a heavy duty plastic case and I believe it has some parts of metal. Second thing I noticed that they added the Dior logo in front part of the case.

The third thing I noticed is the back, the information of the product used to be printed directly in the compact case and it fades super quickly with every touch, and after a while it is hard to read. But, now they had the information printed in sticker which is much better for organization.

Mini Kabuki Brush

The illuminating powder comes with a mini kabuki brush, it doesn’t have the best quality but it is still usable, it feels a bit scratchy on the skin, personally I only have on my small makeup in purse.

001

Glowing Pink (001) described as pearly  pale pink, this shade has cool undertone. I believe this shade is more suitable for the light to medium skin tones. Because it has pink shine into it could be used as a blush topper to add more luminous effect to cheeks and to enhance the definition of the face. The texture is a bit dry I really did not use it that much to tell, but in some reviews I read these seem to has a jelly type of formula. In term of pigmentation I found it fairly pigmented and definitely buildable, which is good thing for highlighter just to have more control applying product.This shade described as a close dupe for lighter part of the Make Up Forever, Pro Sculpting Duo Shade 001. I do not have that product but I saw swatches online and it seem like very close dupe for it.

Glowing Nude

Glowing Nude (002) described as luminous beige shade, it has golden warn undertone. It is definitely the star of the collection, everyone went crazy over it, it is sold out everywhere online and in the stores. This shade is more universal and I find it suitable for wider rang of skin tones. The hype over this product is explained by the current popularity “obsession” of the golden highlighters, different companies released golden ones and every time people go crazy over them, I’m not gonna lie I am one of of them. Honestly, this shade is very to dupe, I find it very close dupe to the Becca ‘s Shimmering Skin Perfecter  in Opal and I am sure there are a lot of close dupes for it, but that doesn’t make least desirable for us the makeup lovers.

This quad has new four eyeshadows designed by Youtuber KathleenLights, this her second eyeshadow set with ColourPop, and she released her Where The Light Is set few month ago, click here for my review. Telepathy is a Chartreuse shade described as a bright gold with a green undertone in an Ultra- Metallic finish, it is a unique colour, and it is very close dupe of the limited edition MAC eyeshadow in Brilliantly Lit from Electric Cool Collection, and every time I go to MAC I swatched it and never got it and to be honest, I don’t think I going to use this one that often but it is still a fun colour and this set mainly designed for night date looks.

Midnight is a  black with undertones of gold glitter on top in a Metallic finish. This eyeshadow looks green depending on the lighting. Definitely, I would use shade for night looks only.

Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette Review

In 2016, Gwen Stefani collaborated with Urban Decay to release different set of limited edition products including: eyeshadow palette, blush palette, eyebrow kit, lipsticks and lip pencils. I only got the eyeshadow palette because it is the only product released in the Middle East so far. Generally I liked, it has a lot of neutral colors for everyday use and few pop colors shades. There are few things I don’t like about this palette, some eyeshadows look very similar to each other, at least on my medium skin tone. Also the formula differ from one shade to another some are super smooth and some are super dry.

This year Tarte released , the Bling It On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette for the Holidays 2015. I wanted to get the one from the last year and the one from Holidays 2013 but I was not lucky. This year got it!, and it is so pretty and I really love Tarte  Amazonian Clay Blushes and I own a lot of them and I can not help myself from stop buying more and more! and here is my a quick and brief  review for it.

As far as the packaging is simple, sleek, compact and chic palette. It is black with sliver glitters all over it, it has a similar concept of the holiday 2013 blush palette by Tarte, the Off the Cuff Blush palette, that one has golden packaging while the one from holiday 2014, Pin up Girl palette which has clutch style packaging. And for this names are printed on the palette instead of the plastic sheet.

The palette is ($44.00 for 0.75 oz.) and it features five almost full-size, Amazonian clay blushes 0.15 for each , the full size blushes (oz.$28 for 0.20).and how amazing is that it is very convincing for travelling because it sleek and comes with different blushes options and it has a good size mirror.

Dollface is a permanent shade, it is bright light pink shade, it has a cool undertone, I own the full size and I was supersized that they look a bit  different in the pan but when they are swatched the look very similar. as far  as the texture the one in the palette is super smooth in compare to the full-size one which super dry and hard to swatch.
